Phorm's technology has been designed and built with user privacy in mind. It has been purposefully engineered to never know who the user is or where they have been and always provides the user with a transparent, easy way to regulate the privacy of their information.
The only information stored and used for Phorm's online advertising is a unique ID number (that contains no personally identifiable information), categories of interest and time/date stamps. If a user wishes to opt-out from the system, there is a clear, transparent process and recurrent reminders of this ability through banner ads and other messaging.
Phorm's high standard of data privacy and user anonymity, using categories to deliver relevant advertising to consumers, is an approach to privacy in online advertising that goes above and beyond current online tracking regulations and compares very favourably with the practices of major search engines (see below).
